  • How long will it take to learn to swim?

    Mastering swimming, like any skill, depends greatly on a number of different factors which include, age, natural ability, willingness to learn and the style of teaching. This means that each swimmer progresses at their own rate.

  • What if I or my child has never been in the water before?

    All of our teachers are very experienced with dealing with nervous swimmers and they will alter their teaching methods and approach based on the needs of the swimmer. 

  • Are teachers in the water?

    Yes, during the lessons the teacher is in the water.

  • How long do lessons last for?

    Our lessons last for 30 minutes.

  • How many swimmers are in each class?

    Our Pre-School, Beginner and Improver lessons have a max of 6 children per class whilst Advanced lessons have a max of 8 swimmers per class.

  • How much do lessons cost?

    Per Session Cost:


    Group Lesson: £9.50 - £11.00 (Venue Dependant)

    Private Lesson (121): £25.50  - £28.50 (Venue Dependant)

    Private Lesson (122): £34.00 - £38.00 (Venue Dependant)

  • What ages do you teach?

    We teach children and adults from the age of 3.

  • When and how will I be charged for lessons?

    All fees for swimming lessons must be paid in advance of the lessons.


    All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in our Terms & Conditions. 


    Your initial space on the course is secured with a non-refundable deposit equal to four lessons. The deposit is retained as credits on your account, which will be applied upon cancellation.

     

    Fees for lessons are taken every month, on the first of the month. Fees will be charged to the on-file card you have entered into the Parent Portal and will cover all lessons in the month ahead. If there are four lessons in the month, you will be charged for four lessons. If there are five lessons in the month, you will be charged for five lessons. We will notify you seven days before, via email, stating the amount you will be charged and which lesson dates it covers. 


    If you want to cancel your child’s swimming lessons, you can do this via email. Upon cancellation, your deposit and any paid credit will be applied to your account, and a final lesson date will be sent to you via email. Please note that if you intend to cancel, it is best to do this before the next month’s payment is taken from your account.


  • Can I watch my child swim?

    Yes, one spectator is allowed per swimmer. 

  • Do lessons continue over the school holidays?

    Yes, however, Aberdeen Swimming Academy do not run lessons over the Christmas holidays. In the event that your lessons falls during these times you will not be charged for this at time of booking. Your invoice will be amended to reflect the closures.

  • Can I go in the pool with my child for lessons?

    No, Aberdeen Swimming Academy do not operate any adult and baby or adult and child lessons.

    Some exceptions apply here, however this is not the norm.
